Add-2
Chicagoan Add-2 dropped his mixtape Tale Of Two’s City v.3: The Rise & Fall over at 2dopeboyz about a month ago, and I was shocked by its production value. Some heavy Kanye-like sampling being done effectively by penniless producers.
As always, the initial problem with listening to a new artist is simply being able to distinguish the artist’s voice from the rest. It didn’t take too many repeats for me to realize that this kid Add-2, the “one man duo”, is a lyricist to be reckoned with.
This tape is up there for me for 2009, along with J. Cole’s and XV’s. Highly recommend you go get it for yourself.
